What is Hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy is the combination of hypnosis and psychotherapy to treat and potentially alleviate a variety of physical and psychological symptoms. Often experienced like a deep level of relaxation, it can lead to reduced levels of stress and anxiety as well as help treat depression, manage weight issues, quit smoking, and many other life issues.

It is both a powerful, yet calm and relaxing talking-therapy. The hypnosis allows clients to enter into a heightened state of awareness or a ‘trance like’ state. In this state, you feel very relaxed and focused, able to access your unconscious thoughts and be receptive to positive suggestions.

A Typical Session

Before you begin your journey in hypnotherapy, we offer you a free initial 60 minute consultation. This allows our therapists to get an understanding of what issues you would like to address, what you are comfortable with, and to tailor your session to best suit you.

Our hypnotherapy sessions are broken into 2 parts – Solution Focused therapy and the application of hypnotic techniques.

Solution Focused Therapy requires a collaborative approach – you must want changes in your life to happen. It consists of focusing on what solutions are available to you as opposed to how the problem came to be. It uses practical strategies to inspire change, rather than focusing on what has happened in your past.

You are then guided through hypnosis – a very natural, calming, and relaxing method used to alter your state of consciousness. There is no loss of control – in fact, quite the opposite. Your awareness is heightened in a deep, trance-like state which helps you to create the necessary change in life leading to happiness and motivation.

How does Hypnotherapy work?

With the assistance of a professional hypnotherapist, it’s possible to enter into a hypnotic trance – a state of waking awareness. In this trance like state, you are deeply relaxed. Your mind is quiet, in a hyper-focused state. A therapist guides you through turning your attention completely inward, accessing the subconscious, and becoming more open to positive suggestion.

How can Hypnotherapy help me?

Hypnotherapy helps by allowing people to regain control over areas of their lives and by changing thought-patterns from negative to positive.

It can help in many areas of life, whether you’re lacking self-control or confidence, living with fears or phobias, or you want to quit smoking.

Hypnotherapy can help with:

– addictions                – weight control
– depression               – relationships
– stress & anxiety       – confidence & self-esteem
– OCD                           – smoking cessation

What is RTT®?

RTT® is a therapeutic approach that uses powerful, evidence-based techniques to provide people with the tools they need to make positive change in their lives.

The roots of RTT® are drawn from within areas of traditional psychotherapy such as gestalt, solution-focused and cognitive behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy and mindfulness.

Its personalized approach works with clients to help them reframe any negative beliefs, behaviours, habits and emotions – many of which they have carried with them since childhood.

Before the session:

Before you begin your journey in RTT® (Rapid Transformational Therapy) I offer a free initial 20 minute discovery call. This allow me to get an understanding of what issues you would like to address, what you are comfortable with, and to tailor your session to best suit you. I also work with Self-Regulation as the Mind-Body connection is integral to your healing journey.

A typical RTT® session:

RTT sessions are broken into two parts. The first part is a Self-Regulation session that is 45 mins online or in person. This first session is integral to your healing journey. Together with the therapist you will discuss the role your body plays in your everyday life and interactions with others and the world around you. You will also learn how stress affects you at an emotional level and at a physical level too, whilst giving you tools to regulate your nervous system.

The second part of RTT is where you address what you feel needs changing. It is helpful to think about what the most important issue is that you want to resolve before you come into your session.

You are then guided through hypnosis – a very natural, calming, and relaxing method used to alter your state of consciousness. There is no loss of control – in fact, quite the opposite. Your awareness is heightened in a deep, trance-like state which helps you to create the necessary changes that you want in your life.

At the end of the session, a therapist makes a recording which is bespoke and tailored specifically for you. It will be imperative that you listen to this recording for a minimum of 21 days for the changes to be more effective.
