class levels

If you are new to yoga or pilates, it helps to go to a class that is easier to follow or is designed for beginners.  We also provide a Yoga Beginners Course and a Pilates Beginners Course for total beginners looking to build a strong foundation before joining group classes.

We have given all of our classes a rating from 1-2 so that you can identify which is best for you!

level 1

These classes are suitable for all levels of Yoga or Pilates experience, including complete beginners. 

level 2

Some previous experience of Yoga or Pilates would be helpful before attending these classes. Beginners are welcome to join too, as we always give modifications for beginners!

Vinyasa Flow Level 1-2

Vinyasa means to move with the breath, which is the core of a Vinyasa class!

In Vinyasa Flow Level 1-2, you will be focusing on linking your breath with your movements and flowing through poses strung together to form one fluid sequence of movement. You will focus on engaging the core and improving stamina, strength, and flexibility while synchronizing Ujjayi breath with movement. 

A Vinyasa Flow Yoga class is considered the most cardio-based yoga style; it features constant motion and rhythmical movement, ideal for will helping you to connect your body and mind and relieve stress and anxiety. 

Level 1-2.

Yoga for Stress

If you are suffering from stress, anxiety, or depression and are seeking a gentle Yoga practice to improve your sleep and general wellbeing, this class is right for you! 

Yoga for Stress will allow you to drift into a deep relaxation of your mind and body. Full focus on breathing exercises (Pranayama) linked with movement will calm your nervous system – helping you to relax the body and mind.  

Mindfulness meditation, breathing exercises and positive psychology linked with gentle Hatha Yoga practice is a great combination for all levels, including complete beginners and people suffering from any injuries.  

Prepare two blocks, a strap, and a blanket to help you improve your practice.  

Level 1.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with stretches that target deep connective tissues to increase circulation. Classes consist of a series of long-held, passive floor poses as well as the practice of mindfulness. You can relax into the asanas and allow your body to soften and release naturally without pushing or straining.

Yin Yoga is perfect for improving flexibility in the body and also for increasing circulation to the joints and is a great way to begin your yoga practice. People with less mobility may find this a great class as there is no dynamic, faster-paced movement.

Level 1.

Vinyasa Slow Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Slow Flow Yoga is the perfect combination of modified Vinyasa flow and Hatha! The slow speed brings an element of time into the yoga practice, allowing you to cool down the mind, get a better perspective of your surroundings, and focus on movement as a whole. 

With not as many transitions as classic vinyasa yoga, but more flow than hatha yoga, Vinyasa Slow Flow Yoga is low impact and features gradual transitions between various poses.

Slow flow encourages you to stay in the pose for longer and sink deeper into your practice!

Level 1.

Rocket Yoga 

Rocket Yoga incorporates a series of postures, based on a modification of the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga primary and intermediate series. The focus of this class is on dynamic flow, breathwork, inversions and backbends, helping individuals to build a strong practice. The Rocket sequence encourages play, arm balances, and some of the advanced poses in Yoga.  

You will be offered tips and modifications where needed for everyone new to Rocket Yoga as well as for advanced practitioners!

Level 2.

Yoga for Beginners

Yoga for Beginners is a great place to start if you’re completely new to yoga and want to build a strong foundation before joining group classes.

This class is the ideal way to begin your practice and discover yoga in a safe environment. Suitable for anyone looking to begin their journey with yoga or simply to revisit its fundamentals, Yoga for Beginners will take you through the basics of yoga including postures (asanas), sun salutations, breathwork (pranayama), and meditation.

This class is a drop-in to our 6 week Yoga Beginners Course – available to book in a block of 6 (the full course) or for you to drop in when you please.

Level 1.

pilates class descriptions

Pilates Level 1-2

In Pilates Level 1-2, each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. It doesn’t matter what level of fitness, flexibility, or age you are, this class will blend contemporary Pilates with exercise variations, and you can expect modifications and alterations adjusted to your level. 

Modifications are suggested for beginners or for those with physical limitations and injuries, so everyone in the class can feel the key benefits, such as: developing core, improving coordination, posture, and balance. 

Pilates mat is a challenging yet safe method to sculpt your body and to feel increased agility in your everyday movements. 

Level 1-2.

Restorative Pilates

Restorative Pilates’ focus is on increasing mobility, range of motion, and improving body awareness through slow, mindful practice. 

You will be guided through gentle mobilisation of the whole body with a clear explanation in a safe environment. There will be plenty of modifications to be adapted for beginners and various types of injuries, such as neck and shoulders, lower back, movement restrictions, and chronic pain. 

This class is designed to effectively improve your posture, give you a foundation in movement and body awareness, and help to ease stiffness and recover from injuries. 

Side-effects of regular Restorative Pilates classes include improved sleep and mental and physical well-being.

Level 1.

TRX Pilates (In-Studio Only)

TRX stands for Total Resistance eXercise! TRX Pilates is a form of suspension bodyweight training, meaning it uses your own body weight and gravity to build strength, increase balance and flexibility and deliver a full-body, calorie-burning workout.

This class utilises functional movement and bodyweight resistance alongside Pilates exercises. 

The suspension trainer allows for greater resistance using our body’s relationship to gravity. This class will further improve your core & global strength, flexibility, and joint stability.

TRX is a full-body strength workout that will utilize your own bodyweight instead of relying on machines or dumbbells.

Level 1-2.

Pilates for Beginners

Pilates for Beginners is a great place to start if you’re completely new to pilates and want to start your practice in a safe environment.

In Pilates for Beginners, you will gain strength, stamina, and flexibility safely, as you are guided through a series of beginner movements, modified and tailored to your own needs and ability.

This class is a drop-in to our 6 week Pilates Beginners Course – available to book in a block of 6 (the full course) or for you to drop in when you please.
