What to Expect from Online Yoga & Pilates Classes

These days are unlike many others. Many of us are working from our kitchen table or home office. We miss attending our regular classes in the studio where we get to connect with others and share the energy of the room.

Thankfully, technology has come to the rescue. Now, we can attend an online yoga class or online pilates class from the comfort of home. Or, from anywhere in the world, for that matter!

How Does it Work?

Before The Class

Joining online yoga classes or online pilates classes at Integrity Centre is so simple. Really, anyone can do it.

There are two ways you can book an online class with us. Method 1 is through our website and Method 2 is through the MindBody App.

Method 1 – Book Online Classes Through our Website:

First, visit our timetable and pick the class you’d like to attend!

We have classes in the mornings for you early birds, lunchtime, and in the evening. We also have a range of classes to choose from including Yoga for Stress, Vinyasa Flow, Pilates Workout, and Restorative Pilates.

Next, sign up for your class! If you have a MindBody account, this is easily done. All you have to do is click ‘Book Now’ for the class on our timetable. If you don’t have a MindBody account, you will have to create one before completing your booking.

That’s it! A link will be sent to your email 1 hour before the class is due to start. All you have to do is click that link and enjoy your class.

Remember, you must click the link to join, so make sure you’ve used the correct email!

Method 2 – Book Online Classes Through the MindBody App:

We’re all attached to our smartphones these days and thankfully, our booking system has an app!

First, download the MindBody App to your phone.

Then, find Integrity Centre (add us to your favorites for easy access in the future).

Here, you will see our full schedule! Just pick your class and click ‘Book’.

Again, a link to join the class will be emailed to you 1 hour before the class starts, so make sure you use the correct email.

All of our online classes are conducted through Zoom, so make sure you have it downloaded and ready to go on the device you’ll be using for your class. You can download it here.

You should aim to be ready and join the class 5-10 minutes before it’s supposed to start.

During The Class

During your online class, you should have your camera turned on and placed somewhere with a good view of yourself so that your teacher can see you!

Throughout the class, your teacher will be instructing as usual and will be giving students feedback on their positions. Our teachers will always have their cameras and microphones on so you can see and hear them.

To make sure your teacher can be heard well, you should have your microphone muted for the class. Don’t worry! You can unmute yourself and ask a question if needed.

What do I Need to Practice Yoga & Pilates Online?

When it comes to practicing yoga or pilates online, you don’t need much!

There are 3 essentials that we recommend:

  • A quiet, comfortable place to join your class
  • An internet connection with the Zoom app, to join the class (download here)
  • And yourself!

Since you’ll be joining our classes online, we understand if you don’t have a mat or equipment on hand.

There are lots of ways around this! Many of the typical yoga or pilates equipment can be switched out for common household items.

  • Instead of a yoga mat, use a soft blanket or rug to practice on.
  • Instead of yoga blocks, use a stack of books to help with stability.
  • Instead of a yoga strap, use a belt to aid in stretching.
